Cyber-Criminals Blamed for Crippling Spark Broadband

Spark, largest telecommunications and Internet service provider in New Zealand suffered a three-day long outage over the weekend, as the Domain Name System (DNS) infrastructure is obsolete, which the company said was a “dynamic cyber attack”.

In a series of attacks, Spark’s web servers were bombarded as cyber-criminals overseas used vulnerable kiwi computers to overwhelm their target websites in Europe and bring them down.
