The latest World Broadband Statistics report has been released by Point-Topic this week, stating that China, the United States and Japan are the top broadband nations in the world. Currently there are 635.9 million broadband lines around the world, with China growing its market share of broadband lines.

According to the report, “China is becoming more and more dominant in terms of share of new lines. This is not the only region that is showing better relative performance however – Africa and South/Central Americas are also showing well.”

After overtaking France to take the fifth spot in the broadband subscriber league table, Russia has fallen back down to sixth place again.

Brazil has overtaken South Korea to take eighth place, and Italy remains out of the top ten, overtaken by a still-growing India.
