Infographic: European Internet Habits

Digital Marketers know that marketing to Europeans requires different tactics and messages, even just a little, other than the marketing to Americans, or people elsewhere.

When 20% of the world’s Internet users are European,  and Europeans only represent 12% of the world population, educate that where and what the Europeans are doing online is vital.

Take a look at the infographic below created by MintTwist about Internet habits of Europeans right now.

If you look at the infographic, you’ll see that:

- Facebook is the most popular social network and has slowly been encroaching on native sites like Hyves (Netherlands) and nk.pl (Poland).

- Citizens of the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands prefer shopping online, but it clearly shows that it is not for Italian citizens.

- By the year 2014 there will be about 35 million tablets in the area, and multi-screen navigation is becoming normal behavior. That said, in some countries, such as Turkey, desktop navigation is increasing as more of the country has access to broadband.
