Telkomsel Indonesia ended the year 2013 with an increase of subscribers nationwide with a total of 131.5 million, compared to as much as 125 million subscribers at the end of 2012. The continued increase in the number of customers in the middle of the tightness of the telecommunications industry in Indonesia shows a high level of customer confidence in the services offered by Telkomsel.
“We are grateful and thankful for the high public confidence in the products and services we represent. Of course, the achievement during 2013 was the result of teamwork and hard work with all elements that are in the company,” said Telkomsel Director, Alex J. Sinaga.
As of third quarter of 2013, Telkomsel grew strongly year-on-year (YoY), both in financial and operational terms. Telkomsel recorded double-digit growth in revenue, EBITDA and net income. Revenue grew 10.4% YoY, supported by growth in broadband data, while EBITDA and Net Income grew by 11.1% and 11.9% YoY. This positive growth impact on the growth of the customer base.
Throughout the 2013 Telkomsel has made several strategic steps linked with investing additional networks such as 3G carrier (2100 MHz) and increase the number of base stations in various parts throughout Indonesia. This year Telkomsel establish around 15,000 BTS. In addition to the extent of the network, Telkomsel has ready to adopt a new technologies like 4G LTE which has also been successfully demonstrated in Bali on the implementation of the APEC Summit 2013.
While in service side, Telkomsel continues to bring innovation and increasing the number of service points, including the launch of 268 Mobile GraPARI (MOGI) which scattered to reach customers across Indonesia.
