Telekom Malaysia Launches First LTE Service, TMgo

Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has launched its own 4G broadband service, which is called TMgo in Alor Setar, Kedah.

According to TM, subscribers of TMgo can enjoy speeds up to 20Mbps with the stability of a fixed broadband connection anywhere they go and the service is based on LTE running at 850MHz.

Based on the TMgo product page, the TMgo service come in two different packages. The first is the 4G Mobile Adapter Package which comes with USB dongle, a SIM card, free 2GB quota in the starter pack, and a bonus quota of 500MB for six months at an introductory price of RM115. The router package is similar but replaced with a MiFi modem, and is offered at an introductory price of RM315.

Meanwhile, to reload, there are a total of 3 top up options which offers different validity periods and data quota. The minimum RM10 gives you 1GB of data for 7 days while RM30 gives you 3.5GB for a month. For heavy user, you can opt for 6GB at RM50 which is valid for 60 days. The reload voucher can be purchased at any TMpoint, and also e-Pay network nationwide.

TMgo is now available in several areas in Kedah and Malacca. The coverage will be expanded to more areas in the near future.
