According to a new research, the common reasons for slow Internet in Britain is because of poor wiring, badly connected routers and broadband filters that need a replacing.
In total British homes were found to “leak” more than 100 million megabytes of bandwidth capacity every year – enough to play BBC iPlayer continuously for 59 years.
Analysts for broadband provider TalkTalk found that more than 500,000 homes in the UK are losing around 4Mbps of broadband speed as a result of poor in-home setups.
The most common problem diagnosed by the company’s engineers was speed lost through poor wiring, followed by the need to set up or reconfigure the internet router.
