MTS Launched Its LTE Network In Russia’s North Ossetia

The Russian company “Mobile TeleSystems”(MTS) has announced the commercial launch of its 4G network standard in the Republic of North Ossetia, which will provide Internet access at speeds up to 75 Mbps.

MTS launched its own 4G network LTE standard in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, providing 90% coverage in the city of Vladikavkaz, including in higher and secondary educational institutions. MTS plans to expand the coverage area of the LTE network in the national capital to 100%, by end of the year. As communication services “fourth generation” will appear in a major regional center of the region – the city of Beslan.

This year, the LTE network will operate in the cities of Rostov region. In 2014 MTS “fourth generation network” will be covered almost all the regions of the South of Russia. MTS 4G network construction in the Southern and North Caucasus federal districts performed on the equipment of Ericsson.

To date, MTS launched its own LTE network in Moscow and the Moscow region, in the settlements of Tambov and Amur regions, Trans-Baikal region, Udmurt Republic, and the Pskov region. Before the end of 2014, MTS will provide high-speed access to the Internet network LTE population of 600 towns in the country.
