Recently, Orange has conducting a tests for LTE Advanced technology in Valencia. LTE Advanced is a further step in the evolution of the already commercialized LTE, commonly known as 4G, allowing duplicate navigation LTE speeds up to 300 Mbps.
Huawei SingleRAN technology, deployed by Orange in Valencia, allows, on a single computer, coexistence of 2G, 3G and LTE technologies, and also now LTE Advanded without hardware changes.
In this test Orange has combined 20MHz in the 2.6GHz band and 10MHz band from 1.8 GHz, resulting in a virtual carrier on the equivalent of 30MHz terminal with which they have managed to measure navigation speeds 222Mbps, very close to the theoretical maximum of 225Mbps, estimated for this bandwidth.
Following the success, Orange plans to integrate other six nodes in Valencia, creating a small network in the city center and thus continue the development of this technology including mobility measurements which will be launched soon.
