Telecom Italia aims to enhance the Brazilian subsidiary TIM Brasil and focuses on broadband with regard to mobile telephony in Italy, which continues to suffer from the price war.
This was stated by the CEO, Marco Patuano, in the opening session of the shareholders meeting convened for the appointment of the new board and the president.
“By the end of 2016, the 4G coverage will reach all cities with more than 35,000 inhabitants, affecting 80% of the population,” said Patuano.
“Investments in new technology are the functional to stop the downward spiral characterized by the exclusive focus on price. TIM Brasil is a primary asset for us, which accounts for about a third of the total revenues of the group and that should be further enhanced,” he added.
