Recently, a trial of LTE-Advanced has been carried out by Etisalat in Abu Dhabi.
The telco aggregated spectrum in the 800-MHz and 1800-MHz bands in order to make its first LTE-A call on a live network, it announced on Tuesday.
However, it did not disclose when it plans to roll out the technology on a commercial basis.
Similarly, it did not specifically state the kinds of speeds it has achieved during testing, simply saying that carrier aggregation will enable it to provide higher mobile broadband download speeds. It did refer to LTE-A as a 300-Mbps technology though.
