Audi has moved the connected car a step closer by offering its new 2015 A3 with 4G LTE internet. Audi is the first automaker to offer the high-speed connection, and other Audi models–and doubtless other manufacturers–are set to follow in its footsteps. Already offered in some Audi models overseas, the service will allow quicker in-car internet connection than ever before.
Downloads are said to be seven times faster than existing connections, facilitating access to a wider range of data. Navigation is one area to benefit from the LTE connection, as Google Earth and Google Street View, used by Audi’s MMI navigation plus system, will load quicker and smoother. Picture navigation, social media connection, mobile app integration and wider access to internet radio services will all enhance the connected experience for passengers.
