The leader in ultra-high-performance Wi-Fi, Quantenna Communications Inc., announced on April 14th, 2014 that it has developing the world’s first 10G Wi-Fi chipset for a new generation of access points in the home, the enterprise and public spaces.
The Quantenna’s 10G Wi-Fi will deliver unparalleled performance, range and stability, with a novel architecture enabling MIMO configurations up to an unprecedented 8×8, speeds up to 10Gbps and universal support for MU-MIMO clients.

“Quantenna’s 8×8 architecture with adaptive beamforming demonstrates that the massive MIMO promise of significantly higher throughput, robustness, and reduced interference can be realized in practice, This architecture will also significantly enhance the capabilities of MU-MIMO, allowing it to support interference-free transmission to many more devices simultaneously. These technology advances will transform the landscape of applications and devices that Wi-Fi can support. As we move into an era of exponentially-growing video usage and the Internet of Things, the 8×8 architecture and MU-MIMO technologies will become essential in all high-performance Wi-Fi devices,” said Andrea Goldsmith, Stephen Harris Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.
Quantenna’s Wi-Fi solutions are designed for applications that require rock-solid, high-speed wireless performance. ASUS is using Quantenna’s 802.11ac chipset to build the world’s fastest consumer router. Texas Instruments is incorporating Quantenna technology into its reference platform for enterprise and pico small cell LTE base stations. STMicro is building Quantenna Wi-Fi into a wide range of System-on-Chip (SOC) offerings. Mimosa, an emerging market leader in providing next generation access, meanwhile, is using Quantenna Wi-Fi to deliver innovative outdoor wireless solutions.

The company is planning to incorporate the 4×4 offerings to its next upcoming 10G Wi-Fi chipsets in 2015. These chipsets will also support MIMO configurations of up to 8×8.
