Alcatel-Lucent and Lazus Bring 4G LTE Ultra-Broadband Access To Nine Cities in Colombia

Lazus, a telecommunications operator working under the model carrier to carriers in Colombia, Panama and Costa Rica, has chosen Alcatel-Lucent to deploy the IP/MPLS solution in nine cities in Colombia. The deployement of the ‘metro’ networks which will be deployed over this year, will deliver high-bandwidth, high-performance mobile backhaul and wholesale metropolitan services for IPTV and Triple Play, business and cloud service providers.

“The deployment of Alcatel-Lucent’s IP/MPLS solution across Colombia will enable Lazus to remain the leader in our urban markets by offering leading edge services for the newly available 4G LTE as well as continuing to provide high quality support for existing 2G and 3G services along in addition to landline and highway services,” said Alberto Polifroni, Commercial Vice President.
